The Band

I formed the Secret Lives of Squirrels in 2009. Currently, the band consists of myself, Chad Wilson (famously of the Popealopes) on bass, and Courtney Drant on drums. Our objective: To make live music fun. We are a rough-around-the-edges rock band, and my intention is to play fun, energetic live shows.

As the primary songwriter, I am influenced mainly by bands like the Black Keys and the Black Crowes, bands with a heavy blues influence. I also love Radiohead and Wilco for their noise experimentation, as well as Yo La Tengo, St. Vincent, Band of Horses, the 400 Blows, the Stones, Loose Fur, Portishead, Air, Big Star, the Flaming Lips, Glenn Gould, Christian Kiefer, Ross Hammond, Matthew Gerken, and many, many others.
